This post is currently tagged with a million tags in order to make them available for posters/commenters. I'll get rid of them once they start being used!

Is moderation a new thing for mc_sales?
24th-Feb-2011 06:31 am (UTC)
What I mean is - is moderating each post before its posted to the community a new thing? I have a post that is now "in moderation queue" and I've never seen this message before

New question/thought...Is there a way to archive the expired or sold posts so that active ones are on the front page?
24th-Feb-2011 09:22 am (UTC)
No, it isn't. However, it is possible to establish posting and tagging conventions to make this easier, e.g. tagging posts as 'sold' and getting people to put their entire post behind an Lj cut that says 'sold'. Getting that sort of thing firmed up is on my to do list :)

Can you tell me the correct etiquette for a post for a cup that has been sold? Should I edit the post, or is it okay to delete it?

1st-Apr-2011 12:02 am (UTC)
I'm waiting to see this response as well. From what I've seen traditionally, most people edit the Title and 1st line to read SOLD, or by each cup in the case of multiple cups. I think its helpful for tracking who got what with multiple cups/offers. idk of deleted messages or if the rules from the board are carried over where its preferred if you don't delete the original post?

I recommend an edit at least for the time being.

Where do I go to sell cloth pads? Is it ok to post them in mc_sales?

Yeah, go for it.
14th-Aug-2011 02:06 pm (UTC) - posting to mc_sales
Hello. I'm a member of menstrualcups.org and understand how to post there. After about an hour, I absolutely cannot figure out how to post to mc_sales. The "post" link is either invisible or greyed out. I'd like to put my cup up for sale there. Do I need to "join" mc_sales? Help, please! I'm completely baffled. Thanks much!

Yep, you need to join the community by pressing the 'join' link on the top right hand side here: http://mc-sales.livejournal.com/profile

I ask this with some hesitation, but... what do you think about adding a 'U.S. only' or 'for U.S. only' or 'ship within U.S. only' tag?

A lot of the people selling cups on this comm will sell/ship only within the States. Some state this outright in their listing, others imply it (usually by quoting a 'flat' shipping rate that assumes the reader is American also), and others don't mention it at all until you post a comment asking if they're willing to ship to you.

Speaking as a member who's outside the U.S., I would find it really handy to have this information flagged up front AND to use this tag to filter out listings for cups that aren't available to me.

It's hardly a hardship not to have the tag, of course; but if you provide one, it might encourage sellers to think about where they're willing to ship and to state this clearly in their post.

Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for considering it!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've added a line about it in the rules.

I don't know if a tag would be the best way to do it, but why not! I see the list of cups is out of date as well. I've changed it so community members can create tags.

Sorry if this is posted somewhere and I'm not seeing it. Is it okay to repost something for sale or trade or is there a way to bump it up if it was posted a while back?
18th-Jan-2013 09:11 am (UTC)
I know this is probably not relevant to you any more but I just saw this was never answered, so for the record. Yes, feel free to repost, just keep it to a reasonable, non obnoxious level, i.e. maybe give people a chance to respond for a month or so before trying again.

i have some (slightly used) unloved cups. could i give them to a good home instead of selling/trading? i couldn't find any info to see if this was ok. i bought a lot of cups in my goal to find what was perfect for me and i don't want them to just sit around.

thank you

That's fine :) Thanks for asking!

I have just had a really unpleasant trading experience on MC-sales. I am still waiting for the other person to respond but have little faith that she will. What can I do about it? Can I warn other people against trading with or buying from this person?
18th-Jan-2013 09:08 am (UTC)
Jeez, that really sucks, I'm so sorry. This is the first time someone's reported something like this, I guess it was inevitable that it would happen sometime :(

I don't know the story, but if you've made every effort to contact them and it's not going anywhere then yes, I think you should post about it in the community. Just be factual about what happened and people can make their own judgments (or it might even spur some action from the seller). Include a link to the post if it's still up and keep a copy of it too in case it disappears.

So sorry this happened!

Is there anyway you can request people only post or bump once a week? There's been one poster recently who keeps copying/pasting her same post so it's at the top, and it's kind of driving me nuts. She's had the same post up for maybe a month or so. I understand the frustration, but constantly reposting it as a new post rubs me (and maybe others) the wrong way, like it's too pushy or something...

Maybe it's just a pet peeve of mine, but just a curiosity I was having.

Still wondering about this. Still happening by the same user! Thanks...

Hi, I've started a co-op that's been up since March 31st and I am trying to wrap it up (I feel bad about having people wait for enough orders). So I decided to just get a couple extra cups since I'll probably end up doing that anyways. All that to say I just need two more orders with that considered. I am wondering if there is a way to push my post back up to the top so more people can see it or those that were put off by how many orders were needed could see I am just about set? Or could I post a new entry as sort of an update post letting people know we only need two more orders and linking back to the original post? Is there a proper etiquette for this?

Sorry for the wordiness & TIA!
